f l u t t e r f ly ,, my b u t t e r f l y . <3 x. It was actually a sunny day in La Push. Andie reveled in the thought of taking a walk today; as she sat in their bright, airy living room, poking at the edges of her sketch book, she stared absently outside. This was much too beautiful of a day to waste sitting inside, and just sitting outside wouldn't do either. Maybe she'd go for a walk and see what there was to draw. In a place as rainy as La Push and Forks, you don't want to waste drawing time. Because when you try to draw in the rain, it does not work well.
xx. Smiling at that thought, Andie brushed hair from her face and stood. "Mom, I'm going," she called up the stairs, but all she heard was the shuffle of paper and a brief "Okay!" Blinking, she walked to the front door and grabbed her dark brown jacket from the hook, stepping outside. The unexpected sunshine hit her full in the face, making her hold up her hand to shielf her face for a moment and mutter a hurried "ouch". After getting accustomed to the brightness, she clutched her notebook and pencil to her chest with her hands and began to walk.
xxx. She started off at a brisk pace, thinking of a plan of where to go. And then the pace slowed. She should be enjoying the day, not rushing through it to get to the next place. Taking a deep breath, Andie decided to go where she hadn't before-- she didn't much like exploring in case some kids saw her and decided she was an easy target, which she was-- and made a left turn down a street she hadn't been down. The street had a few houses, and then a giant barn... Andie stiffened. Horses. The big, huge animals that scared her to death every time one of them blinked. Swallowing, she tried to find some courage that she didn't have and began edging her way timidly down the street.
xxxx. Some of the horses were grazing peacefully in an emerald green, irrigated pasture. The sunlight danced off of their well-groomed coats. Andie had to admire the fact that they were, in truth, beautiful animals. Beautiful animals that were, in truth, extremely dangerous and would probably kill her easily with one flick of a hoof. She swallowed thickly again, stepping tentatively forward. She could probably make a sketch of the horse off in the corner. It wouldn't be that hard... The lines of the animal were simple, but pretty, and she could see what she could do. Sitting on the sidewalk, she peered closely at the animals, her fingers moving gracefully across the paper as the drawing began.

The smell of the barn was always so relaxing to Olivia. Some people hated it and never even wanted to even be within five miles of a horse. Olivia’s boyfriend was one of those people. She had dragged him to the barn once and he wasn’t even able to ride back to the barn. Since he was extremely fast he was able to just run back. He was a werewolf but only a select few knew that. Basically the only people who knew about the werewolves of La Push were the wolves themselves, their parents and the few imprints that were in the pack. Well technically Olivia wasn’t apart of the pack but she was Daemon’s imprint. He would probably tell her she was part of the pack and what happened but she knew she wasn’t. She heard of the cool stories but all she did was hang out with Emily and all the other girls while the boys and of course Leah were off running around. Today was one of those days were Olivia chose to go riding instead of cooking.
The large chocolate brown thoroughbred snorted unhappily as Olivia moved around him. Of course she wasn’t being fast enough with taking his tack off. The anxious boy only wanted to spend his days eating the lush grass around the pasture. Olivia always had to come and exercise him though. If he continued to eat like he did she would probably have to come out twice a day. Finally Olivia had gotten all the horses tack off and had placed his halter and lead line on. Now she just had to bring him down to the pasture. Olivia had no trouble making the horse go but getting him to stop was another story. He danced along beside her as she pulled him along.
It took Olivia about five minutes to walk down to the pasture. It was extremely far down the drive but Olivia preferred it because it was so far out of the way. She didn’t have to worry about Salvador to jump out and get in front of any cars that might be coming up the driveway. As she made her way down she noticed a girl drawing the two horses that belonged to the Turner family that were also grazing in the pasture. Olivia pulled open the gate and let the anxious horse into the pasture before moving over to the girl. As she got closer she noticed who it was. Hey Andie. Decide to come and draw my horses. she said happily as she climbed up onto the fence next to her.
Like Andie Olivia had her talents but they defiantly were not drawing. Olivia’s talents were more along the lines of riding. Liv leaned over as she looked at the girls drawings. Wow those are so wonderful. she said as she leaned back and smiled. I never took you as a horse person. Olivia said matter of factly as she smiled at the paint horse that had decided to trot over to the two girls. Hey Jules she said happily as she petted the horses soft and velvety nose. Are you making new friends here with Andie? she said jokingly as she stroked the horse. [/blockquote]

f l u t t e r f ly ,, my b u t t e r f l y . <3 x. Andie was lost in her drawing. The slope of the horses' shoulders slipped easily, and she began to shape the rest of the body, moving along until she reached the head, glancing up again at the picturesque horse and curving the jaw a bit to form the velvet nose. Biting her lip in concetration, her head ducked down again as she focused, brow furrowing. She was lost in her own little world, but even so, she heard the soft plop as hooves hit the soft earth. She sighed. Her subject had decided to move.
xx. Lifting her head, she saw a blonde girl leading a tall, chocolate brown Thoroughbred. Andie immediately recognized her as Olivia, and breathed a sigh of relief. If somebody else had found her watching the horses, who knew what would have happened? Laughing a bit, she decided to work with what she had left and continued drawing. Pretty soon, though, Olivia had found her way over and was peering at Andie's drawings. At the compliment, Andie blushed and mumbled a quick "thanks" and looked up-- right in the face of the paint, which was poking her head over the fence near Andie.
xxx. Nearly squealing, she scrambled back and her book scattered off into the road. She sighed, and, still scooting away from the large horse, grabbed her book from the road before it could get any dirtier. She stood, looking a bit nervous, moving around to the other side of Olivia, as if the other girl would keep her safe from the horse. "H-Hi, Olivia," she stuttered, clutching the book with white hands. She bit the inside of her cheek sharply, trying to calm her rapid heart beat. They were just so big...
xxxx. "I'm not a horse person," she clarified, swallowing thickly. As the horse snorted, Andie scooted away again, more subtley this time and without the squealing. This time, there was just a little squeak. "I-I don't really make friends with horses," she said weakly, eyeing the two animals warily. She tucked some hair behind her ear and, blinking rapidly, watched the animal with guarded reproach. "I'm guessing you're a horse person," she said, more carefully this time, her pulse slowing down a bit now. The horses couldn't hurt her, she reasoned with herself. The big brown one, Sal, was... Well, at least he was grazing farther off in the pasture. And the paint, she... Jules. She was behind a fence.
xxxxx. A fence isn't much use against a horse that can jump it, a bitter voice inside her chastised, and Andie nearly cringed. The voice, though cruel, was right. Jules could probably easily jump that fence and then Andie would be done for. And Andie did not want to take that chance. Sliding just a bit farther away, Andie exhaled silently.
Did she mention she was deathly afraid of horses?

Olivia really would have never expected Andie to be so shy. When she heard the soft mumble from her she couldn’t help but to bite her lip and feel bad for even saying anything. She found that a lot of shy people that got compliment were really uncomfortable. Olivia would hate to make Andie feel that way, especially when they met only a few weeks ago. It really was a good drawing and Liv really wished that she could draw like Andie. She admitted she was a little jealous of the girl but everyone had their special talents. Olivia’s just happened to be riding and making fun of Daemon. Of course when she made fun of Daemon she was only joking but she was beginning to get better of her comebacks. She would have never learned any of the comebacks she had now without Daemon.
Shock flashed across Olivia’s face as she watched Andie practically fall flat on her face as she caught site of the horse. She had never seen anyone act like that around a horse. It wouldn’t have been so weird either if they weren’t at a horse stable. Why would someone who was so afraid of horses? Olivia pushed the horse away as she climbed down off the fence. Now she felt really bad because the only reason why Jules came over to the two girls was because Olivia was over here. Liv moved over to Andie as she shoved her hands inside her riding jacket. Hey I’m sorry. I didn’t know you don’t like horses. she said biting her lip nervously.
Olivia rolled her eyes as she heard the horse’s nosey nicker behind her. Apparently she didn’t want to leave and all she wanted was attention. There’s no need to be afraid of them. Olivia stated reassuringly as she glanced back at Jules. All my horses are extremely well trained. she said as she stepped closer to Andie. You think if I hold Jules you want to touch her? Olivia asked. She knew that the only way to get over your fear was to face your fears. Olivia placed her hand in Jules halter as she held the horses head still. Jules is a sweetie anyways. Trust me if Daemon can ride her anyone can. Olivia said laughing at her own joke. Liv knew that Andie had met Daemon a few times so she knew who she was talking about. [/blockquote]

f l u t t e r f ly ,, my b u t t e r f l y . <3 x. Andie felt a little bad herself. She should've been more grateful to Olivia for even thinking of giving her a compliment. Andie was just really awkward when she did get compliments-- because it wasn't often. She was normally more concerned with trying not to screw up around one of the few people who was actually nice to her. Andie chewed the inside of her cheek, still eyeing the horse with a nervous air. Yes, it was kind of stupid of her-- if she was so afraid of horses, why had she come to a stable? But she had just been walking, and the horses looked so peaceful and calm, it would've been the perfect thing to draw.
xx. Andie was looking at the ground presently. But when she looked up, pure shock had come onto Olivia's features. She blushed, the color lighting her cheeks a pale pink. She'd never been good at hiding her emotions like other people, and that was one thing that piqued her about herself. She'd never been able to try to be something she wasn't-- faking happiness, faking being cheerful. People who actually managed to become close friends with her found she sometimes had a morbid streak that they didn't like, and that's one reason she didn't have many friends. But naturally she was happy-- that's why she was bad at faking it. It you can't fake what you already are.
xxx. "D-don't worry about it. It wasn't your fault," she said, hurriedly, not wanting Olivia to feel it was her fault. Already Andie had managed to freak out over a horse and then make somebody feel bad. Today's just not going well for me, is it? She thought with an internal sigh. Andie, having already been wound up by the horses' being there, jumped when it nickered and stepped back again. She chewed the inside of her cheek again, feeling her heart beat fast in her ears. She needed to calm down.
xxxx. Taking a deep, silent breath, Andie studied the horse. Surely the horse, Jules was it? Surely she couldn't be that dangerous, especially if Olivia felt so comfortable around them. Andie continued watching the horse intently, watching each movement as it shifted and blinked and breathed and snorted. Jules didn't look dangerous, but who was to say she wasn't dangerous on the inside. After all, serial killers were extremely dangerous, and they looked like everyone else.
xxxxx. Andie looked back up at Olivia as she spoke. "There’s no need to be afraid of them. All my horses are extremely well trained. You think if I hold Jules you want to touch her?" Andie opened her mouth to say something, but nothing came out. She shifted on her feet, glancing at Jules again nervously, then back to Olivia. Jules is a sweetie anyways. "Trust me if Daemon can ride her anyone can." Andie smiled a little at that. She hadn't met Daemon totally, but from what she'd heard, he wasn't much of a horse person. Besides-- what did she have to lose? She looked back at Jules, at those large brown eyes and soft muzzle. Olivia was her first "friend" here, and she didn't want to ruin that like she had all the other times. "S-sure, I guess," she said softly, not taking her eyes off the horse.
